gaia_banner_02_1.jpegCome Celebrate Local Solutions,
International Victories for Environmental Justice & Sustainable Pathways with GAIA!
Sunday, April 27, 2014  3:00-5:00 pm
in the courtyard at 1958 University Ave., Berkeley, CA
Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

Join us for conversation with visiting activists from GAIA's global network, including:

Jorge Tadeo Vargas of Revuelta Verde in Mexico
Jorge Tadeo Vargas has been organizing to build a national alliance of communities against incineration—including Indigenous leaders, farmers, and environmental justice activists—who are advocating for local solutions. This movement has already achieved significant victories.

Ricardo Navarro of CESTA in El Salvador
Ricardo Navarro founded the Salvadoran Center for Appropriate Technology (CESTA) to address his country's critical environmental and social needs, and was awarded the Goldman Prize in 1995 for his remarkable efforts and accomplishments. His work includes community-based solutions, challenging toxic waste trade, and climate justice, among other issues.

Ananda Lee Tan, GAIA
GAIA's U.S. & Canada Program Coordinator Ananda Lee Tan will be in town with updates on a range of U.S. and Canadian struggles against incinerators and for zero waste.

In addition, other national meetings and events in the Bay Area this week mean that we are likely to have other GAIA members from across the country join us, so we look forward to a good dose of community, conviviality, and conversation.

PLEASE JOIN US!

RSVP to leslie@no-burn.org by April 25.
