What a delightful afternoon I spent at Presidio Graduate School (PGS) the other day -- being honored for supporting graduate student scholarships at a heartwarming luncheon at the PGS Headquarters in San Francisco's Presidio.  Knowing of the high level of student debt these days and wanting to help entice students to select PGS' innovative MBA/MPA and Dual Degree programs bridging the gap between commerce and the common good, I agreed to fund student scholarships over a 3 year period. » Read More

"Pause" Participant Spotlight

Eileen Thorsos is the Sustainability Education Program Coordinator for the Duke University Environmental Leadership Program & Duke University Superfund Research Center.  Her work includes integrating sustainability into Duke curricula and communicating with professional and general audiences about environmental health and toxicology.  She is interested in implementing effective communications approaches for shifting people's attitudes and behaviors related to climate change. 

Eileen 'invoked the pause' in the hills of North Carolina last fall with the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment team.  She recently spoke to us about this experience and the ensuing 'collateral delights'.

SAN FRANCISCO, January 7, 2013 - Maggie Kaplan 'Invokes the Pause' for sustainable management students at Presidio Graduate School.  A retired California-based corporate attorney turned philanthropist, artist, and change maker Maggie Kaplan has partnered with Presidio Graduate School to create the Invoking the Pause (ITP) Scholarship Fund.

On a beautiful weekend in Carmel Valley, California, we came together to reflect on and discuss Change to Climate (C2C). With the inspiration of invoking the pause, the schedule of the weekend was a sound interplay of reflections, meditations, coffee, project visioning, nature walks and collective thinking.
